Evidence Management Setup
The Evidence Management Setup dashboard is designed for configuring the storage location of CMMC evidence documents. By default, evidence is stored on the local Splunk server, but this setup allows for configuring SharePoint Online as an alternative storage location.

File Storage Methods:
Local: To use the local Splunk server as the evidence storage location:
- Select 'Local (Splunk Server)' from the File Storage Method dropdown.
- Click the 'Save' button below to save your changes.
Uploaded evidence documents will be stored in the 'evidence' directory at the root of the SP6 Guardian app on the Splunk server, typically located at /opt/splunk/etc/apps/SP6_CMMC/evidence.
SharePoint Online: To configure SharePoint Online as the evidence storage location:
- Select 'Cloud' from the File Storage Method dropdown. This selection reveals additional fields.
- Choose 'SharePoint Online' from the Cloud Storage Provider dropdown.
- Enter your organization’s SharePoint site domain in the 'SharePoint Site Domain' text field (e.g., company.sharepoint.com).
- Input the SharePoint site name into the 'SharePoint Site Name' text field. You can find this value in the example URL:
https://company.sharepoint.com/sites/[ SITE NAME ]/Shared%20Documents/. - Specify the SharePoint site root directory name in the 'SharePoint Site Root Directory Name' text field. You can locate this value using the example URL:
https://company.sharepoint.com/sites/site_name/[ ROOT DIRECTORY ]/. - In the 'SharePoint List Name' text field, enter the name of the SharePoint list. You can find this value in SharePoint Online evidence folder settings by navigating to Settings > Library Settings > List Information > Name.
- Enter the SharePoint client ID into the 'SharePoint Client ID' field.
- Input the SharePoint client secret into the 'SharePoint Client Secret' field.
- Once all fields are completed, click the 'Save' button below to save your changes.

The ASCERA CMMC will now utilize your SharePoint Online evidence folder for uploaded evidence documents.
